Southside Psychiatry – Payment Policy
1. Secure Payments with Stripe
Southside Psychiatry uses Stripe, a trusted global payment provider, to handle card payments when patients book online via our website (through Halaxy, our patient management system).
When you enter your card details online, they are encrypted and securely stored by Stripe, not by Southside Psychiatry.
Southside Psychiatry cannot view or access your full card details at any stage.
Stripe is PCI-DSS compliant, meaning it meets the highest international standards for payment security.
For bookings made by phone or email, card payments are taken securely over the phone at the time of booking, but card details are not stored.
2. Fees
Initial assessment (ADHD Treatment or general psychiatric): £350 (1 hour)
Follow-up appointment: £175 (30 minutes)
Private prescriptions: 30GBP per prescription plus postage ( Royal Mail special delivery charges) . Medications to be purchased by patient (pharmacy dispensing charges vary)
AWI / medico-legal reports: Fees confirmed in writing prior to commencement
Other services: Fees will be quoted as an hourly rate for clinical work ( and travel if applicable) in advance
All fees are subject to periodic review.
3. Payment Process
Online Bookings (via Website / Halaxy)
A 50% deposit is taken at the time of booking.
The remaining balance is automatically collected by Stripe 30 minutes after the appointment has taken place.
Manual Bookings (by Phone or Email)
A 50% deposit by card is taken over the phone to secure the appointment.
The balance is payable on the day of the appointment, by card.
4. Payment Methods
Debit or credit card payments only (processed via Stripe or over the phone).
Cheques are not accepted.
Alternative arrangements (e.g. solicitor/council invoicing for medico-legal work) must be agreed in writing in advance.
Southside Psychiatry does not provide credit. All services must be paid for at the point of booking, appointment, or prescription issue.
5. Prescriptions
Private prescriptions are payable at the time of issue.
Repeat prescriptions will only be issued if payment details are valid and up to date.
Patients are responsible for any pharmacy dispensing charges.
6. Cancellations & Non-Attendance
More than 48 hours’ notice: no charge.
Less than 48 hours’ notice or non-attendance: the full fee applies.
Where applicable, any outstanding balance will be automatically collected via Stripe.
Exceptions may be made only in exceptional circumstances, at the clinician’s discretion.
7. Shared Care
Where a shared care agreement with your NHS GP cannot be arranged, you remain responsible for ongoing private prescription costs.
8. Outstanding Payments
Appointments, prescriptions, and reports may be withheld until payments are settled.
For invoiced services (e.g. medico-legal work), payment is due within 14 days.
Late payment charges may apply in line with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
Failure to settle accounts may result in discharge from the clinic.
